Does it really work without internet?
Yes, in the WTNcloud app for iPhone and Android. It keeps your customers, vehicles, stations and the EWC catalogue on the phone, so you can open it, fill in every WTN field, capture signatures and photos, and complete the note with no signal at all. The note uploads by itself when the phone finds a connection, and the PDF and the customer's email go out then. The website needs a connection.
Is it legally compliant with EA regulations?
Yes. WTNcloud generates waste transfer notes that comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011. Every WTN includes the mandatory legal declaration, the EWC code, the transferor's and transferee's signatures and the waste hierarchy duty-of-care statement. Accounts in Scotland and Northern Ireland get their own nation's regulator, forms and citations.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is yours. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. After that, a Download ZIP Archive button on the Billing page gives you your WTN PDFs for 30 days, and the PDFs are deleted after 90. We never sell your data, and it's stored on EU-region servers under UK GDPR.
What is DEFRA's Digital Waste Tracking rollout and when does it affect carriers?
DEFRA's digital waste tracking service is being rolled out in phases under the Environment Act 2021. Permitted receiving sites go first: it is mandatory for them from 1 October 2026 in England and Wales, and from 1 January 2027 in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Carriers, brokers and dealers follow from October 2027, with a voluntary public beta for them from spring 2027. Receiving sites can file their receipts to DEFRA from WTNcloud today, on every plan, and a carrier using WTNcloud is already writing every note digitally.
Can my drivers have their own logins?
Yes, from Solo+. Each driver gets their own login on the iPhone or Android app, with their own saved signature. Assign a job from the office and it arrives on their phone pre-filled, with a notification; they add the signatures and photos and finish it.
Can I import my existing customer list?
Yes. Every plan supports bulk customer import via CSV upload, including the free 20-note allowance. We provide a standard template that maps customer name — a company or an individual — address, postcode, and email. From Solo+ you can also pull your contacts straight in from Xero or QuickBooks.
